An electronic invoice has the same legal effects as a printed invoice, therefore digital tax receipt of the delivery of goods or services, the only difference is that it is delivered in electronic format and is a legal alternative. Invoices are receipts issued through the SAT page. So that the tax authorities have a record of the income that a company is generating.

Advantages and authenticity of the electronic invoice
Electronic invoices are generated by taxpayers through a computer application that is subsequently sent to a supplier certified by the S.A.T. In order for it to be validated, it is assigned a folio and incorporated with the SAT Digital Seal.
The legibility and authenticity of electronic invoices are provided by the computer program that creates or receives them and can be guaranteed in various ways:
- Through advanced electronic signature (FIEL)
- Through electronic data interchange EDI.
- Through the State Tax Administration Agency
